Health Risk Assessment of Some Selected Heavy Metals in Agricultural Soils from Katsina State, North-Western Nigeria

This work contributes to the monitoring of heavy metal pollution Agricultural soils, Katsina State Nigeria, using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. The contamination soil samples were analyzed based on Geoaccumulation index (Igeo), enrichment factor (EF), (CF), load (PLI) and potential ecological risk (PERI). health risks evaluated metals estimated Hazard Quotient (HQ) Index (HI)) evaluate possible non-carcinogenic effect Incremental Lifetime Cancer Risk (ILCR) for cancer population. results study had revealed that in all lie within acceptable limits as set by regulatory agencies. indices I-geo values range unpolluted moderate pollution.
